Gold Coast son of a pastor held in protective custody for 'bashing paedophiles'
A tattooed son of a pastor who has bashed bikies and paedophiles will spend at least a year behind bars after he was found with drugs and a shotgun.
On Wednesday, Gold Coast man Kevin Pearce pleaded guilty to a range of charges including weapons offences.
The 30-year-old had been found with a stolen credit card and a number of shotgun cartridges in a bum bag, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported.

Pearce was in court this week after he breached parole for an incident in July where police found him in a stolen car with a sawn-off shotgun.
Since his arrest he had been in protective custody after allegedly bashing paedophiles and bikies in jail.

The court heard this week that a local pastor, Grant Hoyle of Glow Church in Varsity Lakes, had written a letter of support for Pearce.
The note said the 30-year-old attended Bible study and the crimes were 'out of character' from the man.
